Summary:A single player, space thriller game where you use your magnetic gun (PS Move) to maneuver in zero gravity by pulling to blue metals or pushing from red metals. Your spaceship encounters a critical-emergency so you must escape from the spaceship ASAP
Goal:Create a consistent, highly interactive, and engaging experience that lets naive guests feel like they have a lot of freedom in the choices they make

Contribution:Programmed magnetic gun attraction/repulsion through the use of Raycasts and Layers. Also set up flow of the game using triggers

For this game, we weren’t allowed to give any explicit instructions to our guests. Therefore, I spent a lot of time with the team designing and testing our game by play testing with naive guests. We used various techniques to indirectly guide players:

  1. Guiding with light
  2. Leading with audio cues
  3. Illusion of choice

During testing, we encountered multiple problems where naive guests wouldn’t know they could turn 180 degrees in the Oculus Rift or guests wouldn’t know how to use the PS Move. To solve this problem, we incorporated mission objectives that would help our guests discover how to play the game.

Overall, this was a fun game to work on because the mechanic was simple in theory and fun to play with. *You use your magnetic gun (PS Move) to maneuver in zero gravity by pulling to blue metals or pushing from red metals.
